Source fallback

When a source loses its signal, Studio puts its backup on air, then returns once it is back. The live goes on: only the picture sent changes.

Create a rule

1. New rule.
2. Watched source: the camera or source to protect.
3. Fallback order: Studio tries each source from top to bottom.
   • Backup: another source, placed right under the watched source, with the same frame.
   • Final fallback: a scene, which depends on no camera.
4. Delay before switching: ignores shorter drop-outs.
5. Return when the source is back:
   • Automatic return after 5 s of stable signal; the countdown restarts if the signal drops again;
   • Manual return only: the backup stays on air until you click.
6. Save rule.

Each line shows the source state: signal received, signal lost or not observed.

During the live

When a backup takes over, the Fallback active card appears in the Control tab and the status bar shows it.

• Return now puts the original source back as soon as it sends a picture again.
• Stay on backup cancels the automatic return.
• Go to final fallback puts the fallback scene on air.
