Rundown

The rundown is the ordered list of your event’s moments: doors open, opening titles, welcome, interview, concert, goodbye. Each segment links a scene, a transition, a planned duration and notes for the team. During the event, you cue the next segment, then send it to the output with GO, and Studio tracks elapsed time.

“Manual rundown on this computer: scenes, transitions and local notes. Media, macros and fixed schedules are not linked to segments.” GO does not start or end the live stream.

The rundown is available in the Advanced view and saved with the event preparation.

Command bar

• GO: “Sends the cued segment to program.”
• Previous / Next: cues the previous or next segment in the preview.
• Stop tracking.
• On the right: “Elapsed 00:00 · Remaining 00:00” for the whole rundown.
• Add segment (top right).

The table

With no segment: “No segments. Add the first segment to your rundown.”.

Under the table, for the selected segment: Cue in preview (“Prepares the segment scene in preview.”), Duplicate, Move up, Move down, Delete (confirmation “Delete “Title” from the rundown?”).

The right panel

• IN PROGRAM: the segment currently on air, or “No segment taken”.
• NEXT CUED SEGMENT: the segment ready in preview, or “No segment cued”.
• EDIT SEGMENT:
  • Title (1 to 160 characters);
  • Scene (“Choose a scene”);
  • Transition: Cut or Current transition;
  • Planned duration (seconds);
  • Local team notes (up to 4,000 characters);
  • Save / Cancel.

“Changes apply on the next take. GO does not start or end the live stream.” Leaving an edited segment shows “Unsaved changes — Discard changes to this segment?”. A rundown holds at most 512 segments.

Building a rundown

1. Add segment: a “New segment” appears.
2. Fill in the title, scene, transition, duration and notes, then Save.
3. Repeat for each moment, then order segments with Move up / Move down.
4. Duplicate copies a segment (“Title — copy”) to save time.

Running the rundown during the event

From the Control tab card

The RUNDOWN card carries the same commands without leaving the control room:

• the OUTPUT segment with its elapsed time (or TRACKING STOPPED) and “On time” or the overrun;
• the Ready in Preview segment;
• GO (“Send “Title” to program”), Next, Previous;
• “12:30 left · planned end 22:45”, computed from segment durations;
• Full rundown and the expand button.

The flow

1. Next cues the next segment: its scene goes to the preview and the segment shows “In preview”.
2. Check the preview; adjust elements and sources if needed.
3. GO: the scene goes to the output with the segment’s transition. The segment timer only starts once the scene is actually on the output.
4. The segment shows Program with “Elapsed”; beyond its planned duration, Studio shows “Overrun +00:45”.
5. Repeat with the next segment.

When tracking stops

• Stop tracking: the timer stops; scenes stay in place.
• A manual cut to another scene suspends tracking if the output no longer matches the segment. The rundown does not declare the segment finished.
• Changing the preview by hand cancels the cue of a segment that no longer matches.
• Switching to the Simple view stops tracking.
• “Stop tracking before deleting the current segment.”

The run itself is not restored when Studio reopens: only the rundown content is kept.
