Settings

Settings apply to this Mac. “These settings apply to this computer. Manage accounts, organizations and billing in the Vivastream dashboard.”

Open Settings at the bottom of the left rail, from the events list or from preparation. The breadcrumb shows “Organization › Settings for this computer”; ← returns to the previous screen (“Back to production” during a live, marked “● LIVE”).

Some production settings are only available once an event’s control room is open (“Open an event's production workspace first.”); otherwise they show “Unavailable”. During a broadcast or a recording, settings that could interrupt it are locked: “Unavailable during a broadcast or recording.”.

Account and organization

“Your identity, the context open in Studio and permissions received from Vivastream.”

• Identity: name, email address and Open dashboard.
• Current organization: the open organization, its Effective role (Owner, Administrator, Event manager, Technician, Finance, Viewer) and Change organization.
• Effective permissions: “Read only. Vivastream checks permissions before every critical action.” — for example View events, Manage broadcasts, Manage event chat, Manage organization settings.
• Session: Signed in on, Valid until (“Token renewals do not extend this expiry date.”) and Session duration (“Global Vivastream dashboard setting, not editable here.”).
• End session: “Your scenes and sources stay on this computer. Session credentials are removed from system secure storage.” and Sign out.

Devices

“Devices currently detected on this computer and permissions granted by the operating system.”

• Scan runs detection again.
• Cameras, Microphones and audio inputs, Displays: each device with Available or Missing. From the events list: “Open an event to scan for devices.”.
• System permissions (“Granted by macOS or Windows, never by Studio.”): Camera, Microphone, Screen recording, each “✓ Granted”, “× Denied” or “— Not measured”, and Open system settings.

Audio and video

“How this computer produces video and audio. Composition settings are separate from broadcast settings.”

• Video:
  • Base resolution: “Canvas size used to compose your scenes.”;
  • Output resolution: Automatic, “Checked against the broadcast configuration before going live.”;
  • Frame rate: Automatic;
  • Color format (for example NV12 — 8 bits): “Only change this setting if your production requires it.”.
• Audio:
  • Default audio output: “Local monitoring output, without affecting the audio viewers receive.”;
  • Default audio input;
  • Sample rate: “Changing this setting requires restarting Studio.”;
  • Channels.
• Broadcast encoding: “Recommended event profile. Choosing another preset is optional.” and Broadcast quality. See Live quality.

Local recording

“Files stored on this computer and recording settings.”

• Local files: the folder, Change, Open, Available space.
• Format: MKV, MP4, MOV, Fragmented MP4. “MKV protects the recording against unexpected interruptions.”; “MP4 and MOV may be unreadable after an unexpected interruption. MKV remains recommended.”.
• Quality: Standard, High quality, Lossless video.
• Automatic file splitting: Off, Every hour, Every 2 hours.
• Retention: “Until manually deleted” — “Studio never deletes a file without confirmation.”.
• Low disk space › Disk protection: Warn at 20 GB, Stop at 5 GB, No action.
• Estimated size per hour: “Varies with content” when constant quality adapts the bitrate.
• “Uploading to Vivastream is offered when recording ends, according to your organization's settings.”

Appearance and language

“Reading comfort on this computer. These settings do not affect what viewers see.”

• Theme: Dark, Light, System, with their previews.
• Display density: Comfortable or Compact.
• Language: Device language, Français or English. “The selected language takes effect the next time Studio starts.”
• Display time zone: This computer's time zone or Event time zone. “Only affects how times are displayed, never the actual event time.”

Accessibility

“Readability, navigation and announcements on this computer, without changing the broadcast.” See Keyboard shortcuts and accessibility.

• Readability: Text size, Higher contrast, Reduced motion (“Scene transitions are part of the broadcast content and are unaffected.”).
• Status indicators: Statuses readable without color (Always enabled) — “✓ Signal confirmed ! Unstable bitrate × Signal lost — Not measured”.
• Keyboard navigation: Full keyboard navigation and the keys (Tab / Shift + Tab, Return / Space, Esc).
• Screen reader: Status announcements and Announce audience counters.
