Installation and first launch
Requirements
- System: macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. Version 0.1.0-dev is built and verified on Mac; no Windows version is distributed at this stage.
- Account: a Vivastream account that is an active member of a partner organization with production access to its events.
- Event: at least one approved event authorized for broadcast, upcoming or ongoing.
- Hardware: a camera and microphone recognized by macOS (built-in, USB, capture card) or video files and images to broadcast.
- Network: a stable connection to Vivastream for sign-in, authorization checks and broadcasting.
Installing the application
Install the Vivastream Studio application provided by Vivastream in your Applications folder, then open it. Studio shows its version at the bottom of the sign-in screen (for example “Version 0.1.0-dev”) and in Settings › Studio version.
One Studio window per computer
Studio opens only once per environment on a given computer. If you launch it again while it is open, it shows “Studio is already open for this environment on this computer.” and closes: go back to the window that is already open.
macOS permissions
Studio requests system permissions when it needs them, never at startup:

To restore a denied permission: System Settings › Privacy & Security, choose Camera, Microphone or Screen Recording, enable Vivastream Studio, then restart Studio.
Each permission’s status is visible in Settings › Devices › System permissions (for example “× Denied”). A camera or microphone whose access is denied stays listed with its status, so you know what to fix. See Scenes, sources and devices and Settings.
Language
Studio is available in French and English.
- On first launch, Studio uses your Mac’s language: French if French is your preferred language, English otherwise.
- To change it: Language menu in the menu bar, then Français or English. Studio shows “The selected language takes effect the next time Studio starts.”; quit and reopen the application.
First launch
- Studio opens on the sign-in screen, or on “Resuming your session…” if a session is kept on this Mac.
- Sign in with your Vivastream account in your browser. See Sign-in and session.
- Choose your organization, then the event to prepare. See Organizations and events.
- The preparation opens in the Simple view. See Simple mode.
Studio then remembers your path on this Mac: window size, last organization and last prepared event. On the next launch, after resuming the session, it takes you straight back to that event if it is still authorized.

Studio never asks for your password and never stores it.
